We split SCP and human rankings because the win conditions differ. SCP tiers focus on kill pressure, map control, and counter-play from coordinated Guard lines. Human tiers focus on survivability, team utility, and how often a role turns a losing breach around.

How rankings are decided

Every tier list on this wiki follows the same transparent process:

1. Observe live rounds after patches—especially when a new SCP like SCP-682 or SCP-966 ships.
2. Compare role kits at equal player skill (random pub lobbies, not staged 1v1s only).
3. Note counters—SCP-173 flashing lights near the statue, SCP-096 line-of-sight rules, SCP-106 pocket dimension timing, and MTF re-containment windows.
4. Revise when updates land—server restarts in this experience often mean bug fixes or balance tweaks; check Updates when CCU spikes.

We label subjective calls clearly. A high tier does not mean unbeatable; it means the role consistently delivers value in typical 40-player lobbies.

Using tiers in your sessions

New SCP players should pick one A-tier anomaly and learn its rules before chasing S-tier picks. SCP-173 teaches blink discipline; SCP-096 teaches pathing and trigger discipline.

New Guard players should read Guard role basics first, then use the MTF page to see when escalation is worth the queue time or unlock cost.

Veterans can use tiers to draft squad comps: one MTF anchor, two Guards on choke points, and SCP players rotating off low-value picks when the lobby is stacked.
